Ophthalmic Assistant Training Programme is a short-term hands-on placement in general at Susrut Eye Foundation & Research Centre, Salt Lake, Kolkata, offered under the Ophthalmology & Allied Health Science > Susrut Opthalmic Assistant track. It runs for 60 days.

Training happens inside a working eye hospital whose outpatient department sees close to a thousand patients a day, so the case mix is what the clinic actually brings in. Applications are accepted from across India.

Supervised case work from the first week, with the number of independent steps increasing as the placement goes on.
